1. About MyTutorSG
MyTutorSG ("we", "us", "our") is a home tuition matching platform operated in Singapore. We connect parents and students ("Customers") with independent qualified tutors ("Tutors") for home-based tuition sessions.
MyTutorSG acts as an intermediary platform. We do not employ Tutors directly โ Tutors are independent service providers who have been verified and approved by us to operate on the platform.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing our website at mytutorsg.com, making a booking, or registering as a Tutor, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use our platform or services. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at our sole discretion.
3. Our Services
MyTutorSG provides the following services:
- Matching Customers with verified home Tutors based on subject, level, location, and availability
- Processing online payments securely via PayPal
- Communicating booking confirmations and updates via WhatsApp and email
- Managing scheduling, cancellations, and rescheduling of sessions
- Providing a tutor registration and vetting platform
We offer tuition for the following levels: Primary (P1โP6), Secondary (Sec 1โ4), Junior College (JC1โJC2), and International Baccalaureate (IB/IP).
4. Booking & Payment
All bookings must be made through our website. Bookings are confirmed only upon receipt of full payment.
- Payment is processed securely via PayPal. We accept all major credit/debit cards and PayPal balance.
- Prices are listed in Singapore Dollars (SGD) and are inclusive of GST where applicable.
- A booking confirmation will be sent via WhatsApp within 2 hours of payment.
- MyTutorSG reserves the right to adjust pricing with reasonable notice. Existing confirmed bookings will not be affected by price changes.
- In the event that no suitable tutor is available for your booking, a full refund will be issued within 5โ7 business days.
5. Cancellation & Refund Policy
We understand that circumstances change. Our refund policy is as follows:

- Cancellation notice must be submitted via WhatsApp or email to hello@mytutorsg.com.
- Refunds are processed within 5โ7 business days to the original payment method.
- Rescheduling carries your payment to the new session โ the cancellation policy applies to the original session date.
- MyTutorSG reserves the right to waive cancellation fees in exceptional circumstances at our sole discretion.
6. Tutor Conduct & Standards
All Tutors on MyTutorSG must meet the following requirements:
- Valid Singapore NRIC or Work Pass โ verified before approval
- Minimum educational qualifications relevant to their teaching subjects
- Clean police clearance certificate
- Agreement to our Tutor Code of Conduct
Tutors must conduct themselves professionally at all times, arrive punctually, and provide sessions as agreed. Any misconduct, including inappropriate behaviour towards students, will result in immediate removal from the platform and may be reported to relevant authorities.
7. Customer Responsibilities
As a Customer, you agree to:
- Ensure an adult is present at the premises for all sessions involving minors
- Provide accurate address and contact information when booking
- Disclose any relevant information about the student (learning needs, health conditions) that may affect the session
- Ensure pets are secured and hazards are disclosed prior to the session
- Treat Tutors with respect โ harassment or abuse will result in account suspension
- Not solicit Tutors directly outside the platform to circumvent our booking system
Customers who directly hire a Tutor sourced through MyTutorSG without going through our platform within 12 months of introduction may be liable for an introduction fee of $500 SGD.
8. Liability & Disclaimers
MyTutorSG acts as a matching platform and is not responsible for:
- The quality, outcome, or effectiveness of tuition sessions
- Any loss, damage, or injury occurring during a session at the Customer's premises
- Any dispute between Customer and Tutor arising outside the platform
- Examination results or academic outcomes
To the maximum extent permitted by Singapore law, MyTutorSG's total liability to any Customer shall not exceed the amount paid for the session in dispute.
9. Personal Data Protection (PDPA)
MyTutorSG is committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (Singapore) ("PDPA").
- Data collected: Name, contact number, email address, home address, child's school and name, NRIC (Tutors only)
- Purpose: Tutor matching, booking management, payment processing, service communications
- Retention: Data is retained for 2 years after your last transaction, then securely deleted
- Sharing: We share only the minimum necessary data with your assigned Tutor (name, address, contact) for session purposes
- Security: All data is stored securely on encrypted servers. NRIC photos are stored with restricted access and used solely for identity verification
- Your rights: You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data by contacting hello@mytutorsg.com
By using our platform, you consent to the collection and use of your personal data as described above.
10. Intellectual Property
All content on mytutorsg.com including text, graphics, logos, and software is the property of MyTutorSG and is protected by applicable Singapore intellectual property laws.
You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission.
11. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute, we encourage Customers and Tutors to contact us first at hello@mytutorsg.com. We will endeavour to resolve disputes within 7 business days.
If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes shall be resolved through the Singapore Mediation Centre or the Small Claims Tribunal where applicable, and shall be governed by the laws of Singapore.
12. Amendments
MyTutorSG reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of our platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
